Jesus came to enhance our quality of life to the highest level. This type of life affects not only our financial status or physical well-being but also encompasses our relationships with God and others. To attain this quality of life we ought to follow Christ’s example. If we do this we should experience life to the fullest. And if not, if it’s not the best possible way to live, then Jesus is a liar.
However, it is possible to say that you are a Christian — even to say you are a Christian church — and actually miss the whole purpose and personality of Jesus. We believe that if Jesus came so that we might really live, then we ought to be a community of people, of Christ-followers who are living and experiencing the best life! Our reputation should be that of a people who are striving to really live. In short, we are a church on a journey to pursue the same purpose and personality of Jesus. It is our desire to imitate our Master and learn from him about the best possible life.
All of life is a journey that is filled with ups, downs, obstacles, joys, triumphs, pleasure, and pain. We feel strongly that each one of those steps along the way is best interpreted throughout the filter of a loving creative God who sent his Son and gave his Word so that we would know how to deal with bumps in the road and find the best that life has to offer. The best journey we know is one where we are seeking truth and believe we have found it. But this journey was never intended for us to travel alone. We believe that it’s all about relationships (as opposed to organized religion) and that spiritual growth should happen as our lives intersect at crossings with God and others in Biblical community.
