E3 Church engage | experience | elevate
It all started a several years ago. Brad Larson was serving as the Associate Pastor at Destiny Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. During this amazing time of growth and ministry training, Brad and his wife Noelle began to dream about beginning a relevant, relationally driven church in the Scottsdale area.
After much prayer and wise counsel, it became clear that it was time to take the step of faith relocate to Scottsdale Arizona. In September of 2003, Pastor Eastman and Angel Curtis launched Brad and Noelle, and a dynamic team of pioneers, out to plant a church in Arizona.
As the team began to assemble, we met weekly to dream and strategize. We also came together to grow as a team spiritually. We would have dinner or dessert and tons of coffee then one of the team members would lead us in a time of studying and worship.
We hooked up with an amazing organization called Association of Related Churches. Their emphasis was to mentor church planters. They provided valuable information and resources as we prepared to launch.
On February 8, 2004 our very first service was held at Scottsdale Community College. With over 140 people in attendance the expectation was high and the momentum great.
In the following months we watched in awe as God brought the most amazing people. We soon found a more suitable temporary “home” at a community Boys and Girls Club. For nearly two years The Life was a mobile church. In December 2005, God did something huge. A local Pastor opened his church facility for us to use on a weekly basis. Not only was it in a perfect location…but you guessed it…no more setting up and tearing down! We made the transition to Saturday night worship services and launched a campaign to reach out to the surrounding community and really shake things up.
