AMOR Mission Trip

February 13-16, 2009
Rocky Point, Mexico

Anastacio (29) & Norma (30)
Daughters: Aracely (9), Esmerelda (7) & Yolanda (6 months)
Sons: Jorge (6) & Ulises (5)
Martinez de Jesus Family

The Martinez de Jesus family lives in a community called ‘Nuevo Peñasco’, in Puerto Peñasco. The family used to live in Guerrero, but moved to Puerto Peñasco in 2004 because of the need. They are still paying for the land; the family together makes about $150 a week. Anastacio works as a street vendor. They believe in God, but say they are not very involved at church. They currently live in 1 room. The roof is almost unusable, made of plywood, and the floor is made of dirt. The walls are almost unusable, made of used lumber. The outhouse is less than perfect. They have access to propane, and a stove. They do not have electricity, drinkable water, a telephone, a car, or a refrigerator. A message from the family: “We are very grateful for your love and support.”

We will be going with AMOR Ministries to Mexico twice a year. It’s a life-changing trip, not only for the family whose house we build, but for those who step outside of themselves to go and serve. If you’re interested in being part of the next trip, please fill out the form to sign up.
